Van Ommen bets on sustainability - EcoVadis bronze medal

We are proud to announce that already at an initial check by EcoVadis - world leader in sustainability assessments for companies - Van Ommen received the bronze medal.

What does EcoVadis do?

EcoVadis assesses companies worldwide on sustainability performance. The platform provides a uniform, reliable methodology for measuring this performance, based on international standards such as ISO 26000, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and the UN Global Compact principles.

How does EcoVadis assess? 

The assessment process involves an in-depth analysis of policies, actions and results in the areas of environment, social practices, ethics and sustainable procurement. Each assessed company receives a score between 0 and 100, based on 21 different sustainability criteria, as well as feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. Data is collected from various sources, including companies themselves, NGOs, trade unions and international organizations, to paint as complete a picture as possible of a company's performance. 

What does the bronze EcoVadis medal mean?

Of all - now more than 130,000 - companies assessed by EcoVadis, Van Ommen is in the top 35% on scores in various sustainability criteria. Within the industry in which Van Ommen operates, its score on sustainable procurement even falls within the top 11%.
